He or she must be knowledgeable in developmentally appropriate practices; and have flexible hours that cover the needs of the center.
The Floater is responsible for assisting teachers in supervising all children in their room ensuring activities and curriculum are adhered to as required by the Director.
Responsibilities:
Helps and supervises children during all activities Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained Helps children with mealtimes and clean-up Helps with all academy and classroom paperwork, such as daily tracking notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested Performs other duties as assigned Work together with other educators, discussing your progress and sharing ideas Preschool Floater requirements are:
Must be at least 18 years old Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position Must be able to adapt to teaching in any of the classrooms Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality Highly professional and dependable Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels as well as with parents, coworkers, and management Good ability to act as a mediator between children Certification in child CPR Must be able to lift 50 pounds, sit on the floor, and interact with children.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
